Taylor Semone Henry is the daughter of Alvenetta Henry and the late Leonard Henry.  She was born in Austin, Tx. and is 15 years young.  She is a member of Rosewood Avenue Missionary Baptist Church were she has been a part of the Drill Team, the Youth Choir, and the Youth ministries helping with back to school activities.  In June Taylor won the title of Miss Jr. Teen Texas United America in the State Texas United America pageant competition. She went on to the national pageant in October and won the nataion title.   Taylor is a junior at Charles Akins High School and is part of the Honor Roll as well as a student of their New Tech Academy.  She is part of the Austin ISD Early College Start Program which allows students in AISD to begin college for dual credit classes, she has successfully completed her first dual credit class, Communications and Speech.   This year Taylor volunteered for the prom shop project, which donates prom dresses and accessories to young ladies in the community.  She is a volunteer for the Big Brothers and Big Sisters, iChoose Program, which is a program designed to help young people make healthy choices in relationships, taking care of their bodies and encouraging positive choices in life.  iChoose held their first Teen Summit on June 26, 2008 at the University of Texas where Mr. Kenneth Thompson was the guest speaker.  Taylor is a member of GenClub, which is a mentoring program for middle school girls.   Currently Taylor is employed with the Austin/Travis county Youth Works Program and is assisting families who are in need of food, fans and community services.  Her hobbies includ shopping, movies, swimming, playing basketball, volleyball, dancing, singing, computers, hanging out with family and friends, and of course talking on the phone.  Taylor is looking forward to going away to college in hopes of attending Clark or Spelman Univeristy in Atlanta, Georgia.
