Our reigning Ms. Classic Texas is Kristina Rowe, of Carrollton, Texas. Kristina is so excited to represent the United America pageant with this title. She is the sister of Kameron Rowe of Oak Point, Texas and Mac Rowe of Denton Texas, and beloved auntie Tia to their children. Kristina is thankful to her friends who have supported her and credits her success to many, including Tonya and Margo Presley, Constance Pullam, and Doug, Darlene and Abby Maxham! The most special person in her life is actually not a person at all, but her 78 pound shelter rescue dog Jake!
Kristina recently left the corporate workforce to combine her passions with her livelihood. She is the web designer and owner of the pageant related site, SplashAndSparkle.com, an online resource for pageant contestants, queens and directors; aspiring actors and models; and any woman who wants to make a splash and add sparkle to her life! Kristina recently launched a sister site, the Splash and Sparkle Network, for pageant queens, to encourage them to socialize and share appearance and community service opportunities.
Kristina’s first venture into pageantry landed her the title of Dallas Junior Miss…in 1981. In 2007, she returned to pageantry, and was second runner up to Ms Texas Plus America. She then won a state and national title in the U.S. United pageant in Atlanta, Georgia. She was named Ms. Texas Classic Beauty and went on to win the national title of Ms. Classic Beauty. At the Texas United America Pageant in 2009, she was first runner up to winner Jane McAllister in the Classic Ms. Division. Upon Jane’s national win (go Jane!) Kristina proudly became our Ms. Classic Texas. Sometimes it’s great to be a runner up! Kristina loves the United America pageant system, and will be directing the Denton County United America pageant next March.
Kristina supports the American Cancer Society, in memory of her mother, Lela Rowe, and the American Heart Association in memory of her dad, Kenneth McCoy Rowe. 2009 was Kristina’s fourth year to participate in the Dallas Heart Walk. She was invited to sing the National Anthem at the Relay for Life in Coppell, and in June 2009, she represented her district in the American Cancer Society’s lobby day in Austin, TX. Kristina also supports local animal charities and enjoys making appearances at local community events of all kinds.
Kristina believes that women of all ages, sizes, and backgrounds can benefit by competing in pageants, and hopes that all women realize how special they are, no matter what their achievements may be. Her motto is, “Celebrate women…and start with yourself!”
