I am very excited to be a member of the United America Pageant. I have been married to her husband, Francisco (Frank), for 28 years. My husband and I met in the U.S. Navy 29 years ago. We have two sons David 25 and Dustin 20.
I an Special Education Teacher at Calallen Middle School in Calallen. I teach Reading Lab 180. Frank is also a teacher, he teaches in the next school district Calallen at the Middle School DAEP. My Husband and I are both graduates of Texas A&M University- Kingsville. My oldest son David is also a graduate of A&M Kingsville. My second son Dustin is also working on a degree and plans to graduate from the same University as the rest of us.
I am currently working on her Doctorate in School Psychology. When not working or studying, I am a member of Coastal Plains MHMR Networking Advisory Council. I am also a long standing member of the Council for Exceptional Children. I enjoy working with students with special needs be it behavior, autism and/or learning disabilities. One of my son’s suffers from Asperger’s Syndromes and is doing quite will in college. My goal is to show that these students/children are quite capable of succeeding.
My platform is Autism Awareness. During my reign I will be working to help other be more aware of the affects of autism on children and their families. I am also working with MADD (Mother’s Against Drunk Drivers). I believe that we were all put on this earth to help others. I also believe that “Every Child can learn and learn well it is our job as parents, grandparents, family members and teachers to help our children to learn”
